McKeesport Area School District has announced plans for remote student food distribution this week.
Last week, MASD announced that after recommendations from Allegheny County Health Department leaders related to students being in school amid local spikes in positive COVID-19 cases, all students will be attending school remotely today, Tuesday and Wednesday and participating in synchronous learning.
Thanksgiving break kicks off Thursday and students are slated to return to the classroom via a hybrid learning model Dec. 1.
The district said plans are subject to change based on ACHD recommendations and COVID-19 statistics at the beginning of December.
“As we approach next week’s three-day virtual effort, our continued focus is working to keep our school buildings open safely,” the district said in a Facebook post. “By working through these upcoming virtual days, we are planning and preparing for any change that may come our way.”
MASD students and families have two options for food distribution this week.
All students will be able to pick up breakfast, lunch, dinner and a snack by visiting Founders’ Hall from 11 a.m. to noon today, Tuesday and Wednesday. Students are asked to pick their food up by the cafeteria door, where the buses line up.
For option two, meals will be delivered via ACCESS vans Monday and Wednesday.
