Cheryl Darlene Foster Hampton, 74, of Woodford, Va., formerly of Monessen, died Monday, Nov. 16, 2020, in Virginia Commonwealth University Hospital. She was born on Jan. 15, 1946, in North Charleroi, daughter of the late Charles W. and Marie Sappo Foster. Cheryl grew up in Monessen and was a 1963 graduate of Monessen High School. Cheryl was a retired contracting officer, having worked for the United States government for nearly 45 years. From 1965 to 1988, she worked for the General Services Administration in Washington, D.C., and New York, N.Y., and from 1988 to 1995 for the U.S. Department of Defense at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. She also worked as a senior contract specialist for Booz, Allen, Hamilton, CACI, and finally retired from her career in 2012 at the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Washington, D.C. Cheryl was also very talented. She loved to sew, quilt, draw and paint. She loved baking biscotti cookies and her mother’s famous chocolate cake. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Pamela Thieser and Patricia Bukowski. Cheryl leaves to cherish her loving memories a daughter, Regina W. (Eric) Cevis of Long Valley, N.J.; son, Willie (Donna Reynolds) Wright of Woodford, Va.; three brothers, Tim (Marty) Foster of Lake Oswego, Ore., Charles (Michelle) Foster of Rochester, N.Y., and Robert (Goldie) Foster of Wenatchee, Wash.; four grandchildren, Lauren, Danielle and Christian Cevis and Joshua Reynolds Sr.; great-grandsons, Joshua “L.J.” and Jackson Reynolds; a devoted friend, Sharon Lewgood; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A private viewing followed by a funeral service, officiated by the Rev. Conrad Auel, was held on Friday, Nov. 20, 2020, at DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. & CREMATION SERVICES, 441 Reed Ave., Monessen. Entombment followed in Grandview Cemetery Mausoleum, Monessen.
