John Sedok – Monessen

John Sedok, passed away on Nov. 16, 2020, in his Monessen home. He was born in Charleroi on July 6, 1934, son of the late Frank and Eva Hornansky Sedok. John was Episcopal by faith and had attended St Mary’s Church of Charleroi. He had retired from the Monessen Coke Plant, having worked for Wheeling-Pittsbugh Steel, Koppers and ArcelorMittal. John enjoyed woodworking and woodburning. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene Sedok; sisters, Helen, Ann, Mary and Irene; and brothers, Frank, Andy and Mike. Surviving are his daughter, Onedia and husband Louis Swaney of Monessen; and son, Tim Sedok of Monessen; grandchildren, Dan Swaney, Samantha and husband Craig Amstone, Sylvia and husband John Sandis, Amanda and husband Justin Mills and Timmy Sedok; great-grandchildren, Aidan, Phoebe, Grayson, Adeline and Caleb; sister, Margaret Diaz and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC., 1209 Grand Blvd., Monessen, where friends will be welcomed from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home with Father Robert Hanna officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Sedok family, as well as the funeral home, ask that masks be worn, and social distancing be practiced. Online condolences may be conveyed to the Sedok family at www.rhomefuneralhome.com
