Five Frazier volleyball players were named to the Section 3-2A All-Section Team last week.

The Commodores saw their section championship streak come to an end this season after massive losses to graduation.

Still, head coach Mandy Hartman’s squad advanced to the WPIAL quarterfinals where it lost to Waynesburg, who took the section title this season. Frazier was the No. 13 seed in the bracket, beating Burgettstown in a pigtail game and knocking off No. 4 Deer Lakes in the first round.

“I’m very pleased with how the girls progressed through the entire season,” Hartman said. “We continued to get better and I saw a lot of growth. We’re still going to lose a lot of key seniors this year, but we have a great class that will be freshmen next season and I’m really looking forward to trying to start another streak.”

Two Commodores were named All-Section First Team, led by outside-hitters Jensyn Hartman and Kaelyn Shaporka.

“I’m really happy to see Kaelyn get recognized,” Mandy Hartman said. “She moved from the middle to the outside with ease. Her and Jensyn were our go-to girls and our point makers all season.”
