Rostraver hopes to go back to ‘state of normalcy’

For the first time since the start of the pandemic, the Rostraver Township commissioners Wednesday did not adopt an emergency declaration at their monthly meeting.
Voting for the measure were commissioners Gary Beck and Ray Iacoboni. Voting against the state of emergency were commissioners Devin DeRienzo and John Lorenzo. Missing from the meeting was Commissioner Henry Boldyzar Jr. With the 2-2 tie, the motion failed.
Lorenzo said the elimination of the state of emergency will allow the township to head back to a state of normalcy.
“Our township building was modified under the state of emergency. We now go back to full, open operations. Rostraver Township has been fortunate that we have not had a mass pandemic here. In the beginning, it was helpful because we needed the tag to get the emergency relief money. The municipal building was closed for a bit and in the primary, the polling place was moved from the municipal building,” Lorenzo said.
