MVH alters visitation policy

By Mon Valley Independent

For the MVI Independent

Mon Valley Hospital has adjusted its patient visitation policy due to an increase in COVID-19 cases in the region.

Effective Monday, the following guidelines will be in place until further notice:

• Daily visiting hours are from 9 a.m. to noon and 4 to 7 p.m. for medical/surgical units, ICU, CCU, 3-PCU and 4-PCU.

• Behavioral health visiting hours are every day from 4 to 7 p.m.

• Patients will be asked to name two visitors, and only those two people may visit during their entire stay.

• Only one of the designated visitors will be permitted in a patient room at a time.

• Visitors must be at least 18 years old.

• Visitors are required to wear masks.

• All visitors are asked to sanitize their hands upon arrival to the unit.

• Once visitors have concluded their visit, they are asked to exit as soon as possible.

• Any visitor who shows signs of illness will be asked to leave for the safety of others.

While these temporary measures are in place, MVH encourages continued interaction with loved ones through Zoom, Skype, FaceTime, Messenger and other means of communication.

The hospital states that the visitation policy may be adjusted at any time in response to rapidly changing conditions in the region.
