Agnes A. “Bubbi” Mahalko, 93, of Monessen, died on Monday, Oct. 26, 2020, in Victoria House Personal Care Home, Monessen. Born in Monessen on April 22, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Klima Benyak. Agnes graduated from Monessen High school, Class of 1944. She was a member of St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church since 1941 and was a member of the Ladies Guild. Agnes married the late Steve Mahalko on Nov. 3, 1946. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Karen Rose; and her brothers, Andrew, Michael and Al J. Benyak. Agnes is survived by her son, Stephen (Debbie) Mahalko of Indiana; and her daughter, Kathleen Withers of Florida; grandchildren, Shawna (Larry) Grimme of Indiana, Michael (Alicia) Mahalko of Belle Vernon, Kimberly (Greg) Bonner; great-grandchildren, Jacob and David Grimme, Zachary, Kathalise, Nick and Nate Mihalko; and a great-great-grandson, Hunter Grimme; as well as her sister, Rosemary (Bob) Betza. Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at ROBERT A. BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC., Grand Boulevard and Marion Avenue, Monessen, www.billicksfuneralhome.com. Funeral services will start at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, with a blessing service in the funeral home, followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, Monessen, with Father Stephen Wahal officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery in Rostraver. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, masks and social distancing are required and guests will be limited to 25 people in the funeral home at a time. A parish Rosary will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday in the funeral home.
