By obits

Priscilla Kaluponov, 93, of Craven Hill, Charleroi, died Sunday, Oct. 25, 2020, in the Mt. Vernon of Elizabeth Memory Care Home. She was born March 7, 1927, in Donora, daughter of the late Michael and Katherine Pasterick. In 1945, she graduated from Donora High School and went on to train as a beautician. Priscilla married Andrew Kaluponov on Aug. 2, 1953, sharing a beautiful life together for 52 years before Andrew passed in January 2005. A faithful member of the St. Nicholas Orthodox Church of Donora where she sang alto in the choir, she was also a member of the St. Nicholas Society. On warm spring days you could find Priscilla tending to her cherished garden, and in the cooler months waving her Terrible Towel in support of her favorite team. In addition to parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Andrew; brothers, Stephen, Peter, John, Michael and Andrew; and sisters, Margaret, Miriam and Helen. Mrs. Kaluponov is survived by her son, Philip; daughter, Daria (Tony) Tatasciore; her two grandchildren, Natalya and Michael; and many loving nephews and nieces. A sincere thank you to the staff at Mt. Vernon for the care that you showed Priscilla. Arrangements have been entrusted to ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE INC., 40 Second St. Ext., Carroll Township, Donora, PA 15033, 724-379-6900, where a public viewing will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30, 2020. A private service will follow for immediate family only. To be socially responsible during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic, we will continue to limit the attendance to 25 people inside the funeral home at any given time. Guests are asked to obey social distancing guidelines and personal protection guidelines which include masks within the funeral home. Guests may be asked to limit their visitation times so that all visitors will have the opportunity to pay their respects. Thank you. Mrs. Kaluponov’s family would like to express its understanding for those who are unable to pay their respects due to the pandemic. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Priscilla’s memory to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 1 St. Nicholas Drive, Donora, PA 15033.
