Seven local teams will compete in the WPIAL football playoffs when the road to North Hills and North Allegheny, the sites of the 2020 championship games, begins Friday.

Clairton (6-0) was the lone local team to earn a No. 1 seed, as the Eastern Conference champions will host No. 8 Our Lady of Sacred Heart (5-2) at 7 p.m. Friday.

The Bears, who captured the 700th victory in program history this past week, enter the matchup having scored an average of 54.2 points per game. They allow just 11.7 points per contest.

OLSH earned a wild card berth after finishing third in the Big Seven Conference behind Shenango and Rochester.

California is the other local team in the Class A bracket.

The Trojans (6-0) were seeded fourth after winning the Tri-County South Conference and will host No. 5 Shenango (6-1) in the first round.

A team with a potent running attack led by 1,300-yard rusher Jaeden Zuzak, California averages 41.2 points per game while allowing 13.8.

The Wildcats earned a share of the Big Seven crown and are a high-scoring squad as well, averaging 41.3 points per game.
