Ringgold School District will extend its care for students to their dental needs.

The district recently partnered with Cornerstone Care Mobile Dental to offer dental care to underinsured students at school.

Participating students will receive a dental exam, dental cleaning, fluoride treatments and sealants if recommended by the school’s dentist.

The service is provided at no cost to the district or to students’ parents, as the program is funded through grants from Delta Dental.

All students in the district will receive a packet of information from Cornerstone Care at school. Online student families may pick up a form at their student’s school if interested.

If a child has received dental care in the past six months, they will not be eligible.

Cornerstone Care Outreach Programs Coordinator Bridget Haas says Cornerstone Care has been providing the service to school districts in Greene, Washington, Fayette and Allegheny counties for the past 10 years.

“We’ll be there with our 39-foot-long mobile unit,” she said. “We’re usually at a school district for a week, depending on how many kids sign up. One day is for exams, another day is for cleanings and another day is for sealants.”
