By obits

Renee Annette Jones, 70, of Monessen, slept peacefully away with loved ones by her side on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2020, at her home. She was born April 27, 1950, at Charleroi Hospital to the late Theressa Matthews Wall. Renee attended and graduated from Monessen High School in 1969. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked for Open Systems until her health began to fail. She also worked at Jefferson Hospital and Hallsworth House as a caregiver, and at Haven Crest. Renee was Baptist by faith and belonged to Mt. Sinai, where she would bring her grandchildren. She was a former daughter of the Elks and Legion clubs. She was an avid Steelers fan, loved playing cards and going to the casinos. Renee loved being a mother, grandmother, auntie and friend to many. She thoroughly loved celebrating and family gatherings. Her smile was infectious, and her personality was endearing. Renee leaves to cherish her memory one son, Andre Lamont “Monty” Ward of Monessen; one daughter, Iris Yvette “Tootie” Wall of Monessen; one brother, Lance Wall of Monessen; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Theressa “Dolly” Wall; her brother, Claudius “Joe” Wall; and her daughter, Rayette Wall. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2020, at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, 230 Reed Ave., Monessen. At 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, 2020, there will be one last viewing before the funeral service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jack Howell giving the eulogy. Interment will be at Fellsburg Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to WILLIAM R. TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 645 McMahon Ave., Monessen, PA 15062, 724-864-4877, Trudy L. Taylor, director in charge.
