Two men are lodged in Westmoreland County jail in lieu of $100,000 bond after one allegedly threatened to shoot his stepfather Friday night and another with a gun had to be wrestled to the ground by Monessen police.
Monessen Capt. Dave Yuhasz said the department was called to the 200 block of Linden Avenue for a report of a fight and a man with a gun.
Yuhasz said officers encountered a group of five to six men and one woman trying to get into two cars to leave the scene.
Terraf Thomas called police to report that his stepson, Micah Craig, 19, of Third Street, Charleroi, threatened to shoot him. Officer James Stoken wrote in an affidavit that Craig admitted trying to fight Thomas, but claimed he never threatened to shoot him.
Stoken said Thomas told police the argument started because Craig’s friends were in the house smoking marijuana, so he told them to leave.
“That is when Terraf Thomas reports that Craig pulled out a gun, green and black in color, and pointed it at him and threatened to shoot him,” Stoken said.
Thomas told police he saw Craig leave the house and hand his gun to his girlfriend, Asia Dezarn.
“Terraf Thomas told officers he is scared for his life and believes that if Craig is not arrested that he will try to harm (him),” Stoken said.
Latoya Thomas, Terraf’s sister, told police Craig pulled a gun, pointed it at her brother and threatened to shoot him and that Craig shoved her while he was walking out of the house. Latoya Thomas said one man, later identified as Aliziah Feliberty, 20, of Delaware Avenue, Monessen, pulled a gun and was holding Craig to prevent him from continuing to push her, the complaint states.
