A McKeesport police detective involved in a motorcycle accident on Long Run Road (state Route 48) near the White Oak/McKeesport border Monday is recovering from serious injuries.

Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 91 Allegheny County announced the accident Tuesday afternoon via Facebook involving its financial secretary, Joe Osinski, a McKeesport detective who also serves as president of the Third Class Cities Association.

The Allegheny County Police Department Accident Reconstruction Unit is investigating the crash, which occurred at 3:04 p.m. Monday near Route 48’s intersection with Ripple Road, according to ACPD Insp. Michael Peairs.

“A Buick was involved, operated by a 21-year-old female who sustained minor injuries,” Peairs said. “The crash remains under investigation, and there are no additional details we can release at this time.
