Belle Vernon Area remained unbeaten with a 5-0 victory over visiting Albert Gallatin in Section 3-3A play Wednesday at James Weir Stadium.

Two days after completing a hat trick in a 6-4 win over Laurel Highlands, junior forward Daniel Sassak was once again a force in the attacking third, scoring three more goals to lead the way for the Leopards (8-0, 7-0). Through eight games this season, Sassak has 12 goals.

“I think he is finishing more opportunities and I think he’s feeling more comfortable working with (Nick) Nagy,” BVA head coach Rob Miele said. “Last year, Daniel and Niko (Apodiakos) had really good chemistry and it took a little bit for him and Nagy to mesh. They’re really starting to play off each other and you’re starting to see what that can look like these past couple of games.”
