Emily June Walker Bowden, 91, formerly of Rostraver Township, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2020, in Columbia Cottage Assisted Living in Hershey. Born in Webster on June 23, 1929, she was the daughter of the late William B. and Sara E. Butler Walker. A 1947 graduate of Rostraver High School, June worked for U.S. Steel Corporation. She was a member of Webster United Methodist Church, Daughters of the American Revolution, Order of the Eastern Star Monessen Chapter No. 205 and Rostraver Township AARP. She is survived by her sister, Maxine Walker Swink of Harrisburg; niece, Terri Swink (Joe) Leicht of Acworth, Ga.; nephew, Randy (Tammy) Swink of Downingtown, Pa.; three great-nieces, Amanda Leicht (Paul) Hill of Acworth, Ga., Allison Swink (Chris) Beck of West Chester, Pa. and Claire Swink (Zach) Woleslagle of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; two great-nephews, Casey (Krysta) Leicht of Ruther Glen, Va. and Ben (Laura) Swink of Denver, Colo.; and great-great nieces and nephews, Miley and Peyton Hill, Olivia, Connor and Max Leicht, Teddy Beck and Tommy Swink. She is also survived by her nieces, Kathleen Beyer-Paulsen (Jay) and Wendy Boedecker (Richard); nephews, Mark Beyer (Ray) and Daniel Beyer (Laura), all of Wis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald “Sonny” Bowden; her sister, Ida Mae Walker; and her dear sister-in-law, Vivian Bowden Beyer of Wis. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 26, 2020, in the JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township, 724-929-7934, www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com, where a Funeral service will be held at noon with Pastor Sandra E. Fitzgibbons officiating. Interment will follow in Fells Cemetery.
