Stephen C. Gazi – Roscoe

By obits

Stephen C. Gazi, 44, of Roscoe, crossed over to begin his new life on Sept. 18, 2020. He was born June 3, 1976, in New Eagle, son of the late George C. Gazi and Allison Farkos Gazi, who survives. He was Protestant by faith. Stephen was a 1995 graduate of Charleroi High School and a graduate of the former Computer Tech of Pittsburgh. He was previously employed by Frac Water Resources in Allenport. Stephen was an avid hockey fan. He enjoyed the Penguins and followed the career of his favorite player, retired goaltender Ed Belfour, collecting much of his memorabilia over the years. Stephen also enjoyed attending annual horror conventions and heavy metal concerts. Stephen was most proud of becoming a member of the Stockdale Volunteer Fire Department, where he attained the rank of safety officer. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his fianceé, Candis Martello, who was the love of his life for the past eight years. Our family is so thankful for the love he found with her. Stephen is also survived by his brother, Josh Gazi of Stockdale; his loving aunt and caretaker, Dawn Celaschi; cousin, Jarrik Dietz; nieces, Kyra and Cierra Gazi, who adored their uncle Steve; and his best friend of 40 years, Steve Pierce. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Donald and Wanda Lewis Farkos; and his paternal grandparents, John and Lou Olive Dowler Gazi. The family wishes to thank the members of the SVFD for their recent visit, arriving in two fire trucks, and to Captain JJ Cullen for organizing the visit. Also to Chief T.J. Wilkinson for his kind words. Stephen thought the world of all of you. We also would like to thank the hospice team of Amedisys Hospice. There will be no public visitation. A firefighter memorial service and celebration will be announced at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to MELENYZER FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 1008 Furlong Ave., Roscoe. Online condolences may be expressed at www.melenyzer.com.
