Pajak, Rams victorious at Red, White and Blue

It was a good weekend for Ringgold’s Pajak brothers. 

Freshman Ryan Pajak claimed the victory in the Class 2A 5K race and helped lead the Ringgold cross country squad to the team triumph at the Red, White and Blue Invitational held at White Oak Park Saturday. 

Pajak crossed the finish line with a time of 16:02, the second fastest of the day for any male runner in all classifications. 

Senior Lucas Pajak, Ryan’s older brother, placed third with a time of 16:18. Ben Daerr finished seventh at 17:02 and Lorenzo Zeni crossed in 11th at 17:10. Other Ringgold runners were Nick Whaley (22nd, 17:35), David Molisee (34th, 18:15) and Aidan Fausnaught (57th, 19:02). 

A number of other local runners competed in the Class 2A boys race, including McKeesport’s Aaron Elm, who finished 17th. The junior had a time of 17:25. 

Belle Vernon Area sophomore Luke Henderson led his team with a 30th place finish and a time of 18:07. Elizabeth Forward’s Christian Guinto-Brody placed 39th with a time of 18:25 and Thomas Jefferson’s Kaiden Smith had a 52nd place showing with a time of 18:52. 

The Ringgold girls finished third out of 19 teams in the Class 2A standings.
