The air is becoming cooler, the days are growing shorter and leaves are changing color.
Fall is right around the corner, and with it comes one of the most beloved occasions of the season: Halloween.
Monongahela is preparing for Halloween by updating the annual Ghost Walk Tours sponsored by the Monongahela Area Historical Society, one of the area’s most popular and spook-tacular events.
The tours, now in their 20th year, feature guided walks down the city’s Main Street, where the group stops at various locations to hear stories and learn the history of the town and its residents as well as architecture of the homes.
Of course, tales of terror and sinister stories are the main attraction, and the historical society is asking residents for their best frightfully fun fables to be included in the tours.
“We feature stories of people who have had unusual things happen to them in their home or business,” said Monongahela Historical Society President Laura Magone. “They tell us if they’ve seen some things or heard some things. For some reason, people like being scared.”
