Angela L. Palombo Caporossi – Monessen

Angela L. Palombo Caporossi, 94, of Monessen, died Friday, Sept. 11, 2020, in Monongahela Valley Hospital Inc. She was born in Monessen, on May 16, 1926, daughter of the late Frank and Catherine Treater Palombo. Angela was a lifelong resident of Monessen, a 1943 graduate of Monessen High School and a member of the Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church in Monessen. She was also a member of Epiphany Ladies, Italian-American Heritage Society and the Italian Society of Mutual Aid. She retired after 25 years as an elementary school teacher at St. Cajetan Roman Catholic School in Monessen and Transfiguration Roman Catholic School in Monongahela. Angela was the wife of the late Joseph J. “Cappy” Caporossi who died in 2010. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and Guy Palombo and by a sister, Lucille Judy. She is survived by her two sons, Joseph L. (Melinda) Caporossi of Middletown, Ohio, and Ronald J. (Sandra) Caporossi of Willoughby, Ohio; a granddaughter, Katherine A. Caporossi of Mentor, Ohio; and by her nieces and nephews, William Judy and Lydia Scenna of Baltimore, Md., Diane DeLuca of Agawam, Mass., and Michael Palombo of McMurray. Angela was a loving wife, a great mother to her sons and a devoted Nana who most enjoyed being with her family. She was an exceptional cook and an even better baker to which her family can attest. Due to the coronavirus, the family will hold a private viewing. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2020, at Epiphany of Our Lord Church, 44 Pennsylvania Blvd., Monessen. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Township. DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. AND CREMATION SERVICES, 441 Reed Ave., Monessen, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
