Samuel Suzich – Grantsville, Md., formerly of Roscoe

Samuel Suzich, 86, of Grantsville, Md., formerly of Roscoe, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2020. A son of the late Mike and Molly Bjelosh Suzich, he was born in Roscoe on July 11, 1934. He graduated from Charleroi High School in 1952 and from the University of Pittsburgh in 1963, with a Bachelor’s in electrical engineering. Sam was last employed as an industrial electrical engineer at Kelly-Springfield Tire Company in Cumberland, Md. He was a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers and a student member of AIEE and Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers. He enlisted and served in the United States Air Force. Sam is survived by two sisters; Ann Lewis of Elco and Martha Medich of Pittsburgh; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Sara (Dushey) Semich, Katherine (John) Werlwas and Dorothy (John) Gillen and four brothers, Mike, Harry, William and Nick Suzich. Private arrangements have been entrusted to the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-5300. Prior to his death, he was surrounded day and night by his loving family who cared for him, sharing precious moments and memories. Sam’s family is grateful to his nephew, Gary Lewis and his wife Cheryl, who provided the accommodations for the family to remain together during his final days. A special thank you to OSPTA Hospice who provided exceptional and professional care to Sam and his family
