Helen Jean Kmetz Makovics – Rostraver Township,

Helen Jean Kmetz Makovics, 96, of Rostraver Township, died Monday, Sept.7, 2020. Born in Sutersville on April 11, 1924, she was the daughter of the late John G. and Anna E. Koroly Kmetz.
Helen was a dietician and had worked at Mercy Hospital and Sealtest Dairies; then she worked at the Mon Valley Health Center for 26 years. She was a member of the Church of St. Anne and the American Dietetic Association. Helen liked to cook, bake and crochet afghans. She is survived by her sons, Vincent P. (Robin) Makovics Jr. of Rostraver and John A. (Michele) Makovics of Horsham, PA; grandchildren, Lauren Makovics, Natalie Makovics, James Makovics and Kelly Makovics; and sister, Joan K Opachick of Indialantic, Fla. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent P. Makovics; and her sister, Vera Knight. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Dr., Rostraver Township,724-929-7934, www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com, where a Blessing service will be held on Thursday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in the Church of St. Anne with the Rev. David J. Nazimek presiding. Interment will follow in Salem Cemetery. Everyone attending the visitation and services must wear a mask and practice social distancing. Only 25 people are permitted in the funeral home at a time.
