To discuss the ongoing economic recovery of western Pennsylvania from the coronavirus pandemic, the Senate Majority Policy Committee will host a workshop with local employers and legislators about the region’s progress at Ameri-Precision Metals in Canonsburg at 2 p.m. Sept. 16.
This workshop discussion is being held at the request of Senator Camera Bartolotta, R-Carroll Township, in response to Gov. Tom Wolf’s guidelines and restrictions placed on businesses and public gatherings.
“The recovery from the governor’s prolonged and inconsistent shutdown orders will be a long process, and we must keep our eyes and ears open about the challenges facing our communities,” said Bartolotta, chairperson of the Senate Labor and Industry Committee. “We need to maintain a healthy dialogue with business owners and local leaders to make sure that state government is an effective partner in the recovery process.
This hearing will help identify the most pressing issues facing employers and employees today so they can take the next steps to ensure local communities can eventually come back stronger than ever.”
