Kathleen V. ‘Kay’ Alessio – Rostraver Township

Kathleen V. “Kay” Alessio, 81, of Rostraver Township, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Aug. 24, 2020, in her home. A daughter of the late Julius and Grace Carroll Klein, she was born on March 25, 1939. A resident of Rostraver for most of her adult life, she was a faithful member and greeter of the Church of St. Anne Roman Catholic Church of Rostraver Township. Kay was a dedicated educator and retired in 1998 as the federal program coordinator for the Belle Vernon Area School District. She was a lifelong cat owner and lover and gave generously to both the ASPCA and PETA. Survivors include one brother, Julius “Jay” Klein of Anderson, S.C.; a sister-in-law, Linda Klein of Coatesville; a brother-in-law, Robert Nagy of Roscoe; 11 nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Alessio, on April 25, 2008; a sister, Eileen Nagy; a brother, Edward Lawrence “Larry” Klein; and a sister-in-law, Joan Klein. Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-5300, www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, 2020, in the Church of St. Anne, 1870 Rostraver Road, Rostraver Township, with the Rev. David Nazimek, pastor, as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Masks must be worn in the funeral home and the church. Visitors to the funeral home will be limited to 25 people at a time. For the funeral Mass, family and friends will go directly to the church.
