Rosalie E. Debowski, 88, of Carroll Township, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2020, at UPMC Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born in North Charle roi on Oct. 6, 1931, a daughter of the late Patsy and Pasqua Rocco Amatangelo. She was Catholic by faith and a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish and the former Our Lady of the Valley Parish Christian Mother’s Women’s Guild. A homemaker, Mrs. Debowski loved to bake and spend time with her family, who meant the world to her. She was an avid bingo player who enjoyed trips to the casino. She was a member of Polish Falcons Nest 247 in Donora for many years. Rosalie was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her six sisters, Jean Volpi, Edith Dutko, Mildred Marra, Angeline Tosi, Ann Veliky and Amelia Caruso; and two brothers, Raymond Amatangelo and Gerald Amatangelo. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Anthony A. Debowski, whom she would have celebrated 65 years of marriage with on Sept. 17, 2020; three children, Marisa (Stanford) Turkovich of Donora, Thomas Debowski of Carroll Township and Robert (Dee Dee) Debowski of Carroll Township; two grandchildren, Brianne (Justin) Metz of Arizona and Erynn Joi Turkovich of California; two great-grandsons, Bryson and Easton Metz; three step-grandchildren, Nicole Myers, Justin Myers and Derek (Nikki) Myer; one step great-granddaughter, Sophia Myers; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Arrangements have been entrusted to ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE INC., 40 Second St. Ext., Carroll Township/Donora, PA 15033, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, 2020. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24, 2020, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Donora campus of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish. Interment will follow at Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, 1 Park Manor Road, Donora, PA 15033 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in Mrs. Debowski’s name. In order to be compliant with the new “norm” of Covid-19 restrictions, attendance will be limited to 25 people at any given time inside the funeral home. Guests are asked to obey social distancing guidelines and personal protection guidelines, which include masks within the funeral home. Guests may be asked to limit their visitation times so that all visitors will have the opportunity to pay their respects. Thank you.
