Dianna Lynn Valentin – Monessen
Dianna Lynn Valentin, 49, of Monessen, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Aug. 13, 2020. She was born July 18, 1971, in Natrona Heights, to Sandra and Randy Griffith Sr. She was the wife of Richard Valentin and loving mother of Britni Newman, Steven McCartney, Justin Valentin and Devon Valentin. She is also survived by her sister and best friend, Kelly Eisely; and brother, Randy Griffith Jr., as well as her eight granddaughters, Jaymee, Payton, Raelynn, Harley, Isabella, Finleigh, Madeline and Remington. Dianna was the apple of her parents’ eye. From a young child, she had a caring and compassionate soul. She was always looking to help others, so it was no surprise when she joined the medical field. It suited her servant heart perfectly. Her father described her “as a light that shown on everyone she met or knew” and said that “she had a smile that could melt even the coldest heart.” If you knew Dianna, you knew this to be true. Aside from her job, Dianna had a deep love for animals. Throughout the years, she had numerous dogs and cats that she called her “fur-babies.” She made the comment one time that she wished she could provide a home to every animal in need and if she lived alone, she would’ve done just that. Dianna’s interests included reading, laying on her chaise or papasan chair and watching her favorite television programs, snuggling with her cats, Lulu and Layla, playing cards with family members, getting tattooed by her son, visiting her parents on almost a daily basis and Facetiming her children and granddaughters when she couldn’t be with them in person. Dianna’s four children meant everything to her and she had an indescribable bond with each one of them. If her children were her world, her grandchildren were her universe. She loved them more than anything and talked about them all the time. Anytime they needed her, despite living hours away, she was there at the drop of a hat. She enjoyed celebrating holidays with them, helping with their birthday parties and just spoiling them in general. There wasn’t a day she didn’t ask how her “girlies” were doing and they loved her unconditionally. Dianna will be missed tremendously. She was an amazing wife, daughter, mother, mother-in-law, sister, Nona, aunt, cousin and friend. They say time heals all wounds, but she was such a huge part of her family’s lives that this is one wound that will never fully heal. The world is now a little dimmer…
