Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful, an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, is accepting nominations for the following grant and award programs:

• Public officials who have signed the Leaders for a Beautiful Pennsylvania Pledge can nominate a person or group for a Community Pride Award.

The award recognizes outstanding environmental stewardship and can be presented to businesses, individuals, schools, community organizations or civic groups that make an outstanding commitment to litter control, recycling, beautification or general environmental stewardship.

To nominate a person or group for the award, the nominator must be a legislator or public official who has signed the Leaders for a Beautiful Pennsylvania Pledge. The certificate will be printed with the awardee’s name and mailed to the nominator.

Award applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. After receiving an application, Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful will contact the nominator to discuss delivery and/or presentation of the award.

• With support from the state Department of Environmental Protection, Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful has launched the IllegalDumpFreePA Program to help local government and local law enforcement officials curb illegal dumping by exposing those who commit such activities.
