Charleroi Area gifted with reusable water bottles from cfsbank

Students in the Charleroi Area School District will stay hydrated on campus this year thanks to a donation from a local bank.
On Tuesday, cfsbank announced a donation of 1,400 reusable water bottles to the district.
The bank learned of the need through school board member Tom Nutting’s annual “Stuff A Bus” campaign.
Each year cfsbank partners with Nutting and the Charleroi Area School District Education Foundation to collect school supplies.
The Stuff A Bus campaign kicked off at the cfsbank Charleroi Branch, located at First Street and McKean Avenue, July 15 and will run through Aug. 20.
During the collection, Nutting mentioned that due to the coronavirus pandemic, the school outfitted water fountains with water bottle refilling stations.
After the bank learned of the change, in addition to a large yellow bus parked in their lot to collect school supplies, the company decided to make sure all students had Cougar water bottles to use throughout their school day.
The water bottles are red and black with a white Charleroi Cougar logo and will be given to students — with their name on them — on the first day of class.
Nutting said the water bottles will help to alleviate a financial burden.
“Many families are facing hardships due to the pandemic, and purchasing a water bottle and other needed school supplies could be a financial burden for some,” Nutting said. “That’s why it is such a blessing when organizations in the community can step up and help during times like these.”
Superintendent Dr. Ed Zelich applauded Nutting for his continuous effort on behalf of students.
“He is such an asset,” Zelich said. “We are so grateful for all he does to secure what our students need.”
