John Lee ‘Jack’ Jones Jr. – Fallowfield Township

John Lee “Jack” Jones Jr., 90, of Fallowfield Township, passed away peacefully with family members with him, in Jefferson Hospital on Aug. 4, 2020. Jack was born Feb. 13, 1930, a son of the late John L. Jones Sr. and Bertha Griffith Jones. Jack was a graduate of Charleroi High School, Class of 1948 and the Massanutten Military Academy in Woodstock, Va. He also served in the U.S. Navy submarine service. He served aboard the USS Tusk and USS Bang submarines during the Korean War. He then worked for Bell Telephone and AT&T for 41 years as a systems technician. Jack has been a lifelong resident of the Charleroi area, growing up in Elco and living in Charleroi and Fallowfield Township his entire life. He was a member of the Charleroi Lodge 615 F&AM. Masons, First Christian Church in Fallowfield Township and the Roscoe American Legion. Jack was preceded in death this past May by his beloved wife, Pat. They were high school sweethearts and married 66 years and truly could not live without each other. Jack is survived by his brother, Richard Jones (Sue) of Bristol, Va.; his three daughters, Kimberly Wilson (George) of Hilton Head, S.C., Kristen Lee Jones (Maureen) of Davie, Fla. and Kelley Blaner (Dave) of Moon Township; and his son, John Lee Jones III (Patricia) of Nottingham; his six grandchildren, Adam and Abbey Carcella, Zachary and Alexis Blaner, and Nicolette and Ashley Jones; and one great-granddaughter, Haley Carcella. Funeral services will be held at the Mon Valley Memorial Park, 49 2nd St. Ext., Donora, PA 15033, at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8. Guests attending the services are asked to please maintain social distancing and masks are required. Arrangements were entrusted to SCHROCK-HOGAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC.
