Charlotte Jericho -Donora

By obits

Charlotte Jericho, 74, of Donora, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2020, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Monessen, on July 22, 1946, a daughter of the late Charles and Verna Byron Blatchford. She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Donora, where she served as a member of the vestry, woman’s auxiliary and was an integral part of the youth program. She has held many roles of service, always giving of herself and not expecting anything in return. To take better care of her husband, she became a licensed practical nurse and served for 20 years in a new role at John J. Kane Regional Center in McKeesport. Char loved nothing more than spending time with her family. She particularly enjoyed the time spent with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Donald “Jake” Jericho Sr., on May 5, 2014; one brother, Charles Blatchford Jr.; and one sister, Dixie Petrone. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Dawn (Thomas) Kovalak, Dianne Naylor and Scott, Donald “Peepson” Jericho Jr. (fiancée, April) and Leigh Ann (Ross) Pancoast; nine grandchildren, Kristy (Seth), Amy (Juan), TJ, Travis “Skootz,” Jeffrey (granny daughter Amber), Jacob “Jake,” Julie “Bug,” Jacquelyn “Jackie” and Christian; seven great-grandchildren, Rivers, Kendall, Adrian, Audrey, Kennedy, Pax and Drogo; two sisters, Margaret Sabo and Linda Staton; and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements have been entrusted to ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE INC., 40 Second St. Ext., Carroll Township/Donora, PA 15033, 724-379-6900, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2020. A service will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, 2020, with the Rev. Father Robert Hanna officiating. Interment will follow at Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora. Several family members have severe asthma and are requesting that guests refrain from wearing perfume or other scented products. In order to be compliant with the new “norm” of COVID-19 restrictions, attendance will be limited to 40 people at any given time inside the funeral home. Guests are asked to obey social distancing and personal protection guidelines, which include masks within the funeral home. Guests may be asked to limit their visitation times so that all visitors will have the opportunity to pay their respects. Thank you. Mrs. Jericho’s family would like to express their understanding for those who are unable to pay their respects due to the pandemic. In lieu of flowers, Char’s family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Mon Valley Youth and Teen Association in memory of Charlotte Jericho by using PayPal at mvyata@comcast.net or via mail at 160 Thompson Ave., Donora, PA 15033.
