Tasanai ‘Tas’ Chuahong – South Park, formerly of New Eagle

Tasanai “Tas” Chuahong, 51, of South Park, formerly of New Eagle, died unexpectedly Wednesday, July 29, 2020, in his home. He was born March 16, 1969, in Ubon, Thailand, the son of Noi Chuahong Helmken of South Park. Tas was a 1988 graduate of Ringgold High School and a member of Riverview Baptist Church in New Eagle. He retired from SCI Greene, where he was a state corrections officer. Tas was an outgoing man who enjoyed power lifting and spending time with others. In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons, Kamron and Kyle Chuahong; two granddaughters; a brother, Bill and wife Meigan of South Park; and a niece, Katie Summer Chuahong. He was preceded in death by his brother, Banchar Chuahong, who died March 20, 2017. Friends will be received Sunday, Aug. 2, 2020, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 West Main St., Monongahela, where services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 3, 2020, with the Deacon Joseph Anders officiating.
