David G. Granato – Charleroi

David G. Granato, 54, of Charleroi, was called to the Lord on Wednesday, July 29, 2020. Born on July 26, 1966, he was the son of David and Shirley Hussar Granato, who survive, of Long Branch. Dave was Christian by faith. He was a licensed electrician and was currently working as a mechanic for Campbell Transportation. He was well known as a BBQ man, as he loved smoking meat and cooking. He was a Charleroi Midget League football coach for several years and he loved riding his Harley and kayaking. He was a member of the Italian, Belgian and Russian clubs of Charleroi, the Slavic Club of North Charleroi and the Charleroi Booster Club. In addition to his parents, Dave is survived by his loving companion, Mary Oler of Charleroi; children, Jamie and Josh Granato; sisters, Pam McClelland of Long Branch and Robin (Mark) Marchesini of Belle Vernon; brother, Rich Granato of Long Branch; former wife, Darla Speers and her mother Patricia of Charleroi; fur babies, Gizmo and Rosey; cat, Willie; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2, at CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION, 819 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, Joseph A. Lopez, funeral director. A celebration of Dave’s life will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 3, at North Charleroi Recreational Park, followed by a picnic. Out of respect to elder family members as well as state mandates, masks will be required to enter the funeral home and social distancing guidelines will apply. Those who are unable or uncomfortable attending Sunday visitation are strongly encouraged to attend the outdoor gathering Monday. Online condolences may be sent to www.spallinofuneralhome.com.
