Drivers on the Pennsylvania Turnpike will soon pay more to use the tolled highway system that spans the commonwealth.
The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission approved a 6% toll increase Tuesday for all EZ-Pass rates system-wide and a larger rise for Toll by Plate rates that were established before last month’s conversion to all-electronic tolling.
The rate hike marks the 13th consecutive year drivers will have to pay more to use the 360-mile highway.
The increase will impact these locations:
• Beaver Valley Expressway along I-376.
• Delaware River Bridge at the New Jersey border.
• Gateway Toll Plaza at the Ohio border.
• Greensburg Bypass on PA Turnpike 66.
• Keyser Avenue and Clarkes Summit Tolls on Northeastern Extension.
• Southern Beltway on PA Turnpike 576.
The increase is slated to take effect at 12:01 a.m. Jan. 3.
