The clock continuously ran and the points didn’t matter between Farmers Insurance and Elite Physical Therapy Tuesday night.
Due to a lack of eligible players, previously unbeaten Farmers was forced to forfeit, technically giving it its first loss of the season before earning a 70-62 exhibition triumph over EPT in the Mon Valley Independent Summer Basketball League at Marx’s Court Time Sports Center in Elizabeth Township.
Laurel Highlands’ Caleb Palumbo led all scorers with 26 points for Farmers (4-1). He hit five 3-pointers, including four in a 14-point second half. McKeesport’s Robert Robinson had 16 points, while South Allegheny’s Omar Faulkner poured in 15 points and added 15 rebounds for the double-double.
Bishop Canevin’s Shea Champine finished with 19 points to lead the way for EPT (3-2). Kiski School’s Robert Cain chipped in with 18 and SA’s Bryce Epps picked up a double-double with 11 points and 10 boards.
