Catherine Jean Pomponio, 87, of Charleroi, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 13, 2020. She was born Feb. 3, 1933, in Gillespie, a daughter of the late Iva Hall and Michael Pudish. Jean was a homemaker and member of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Charleroi and the Charleroi Goldenagers. She was an avid Steelers fan who also enjoyed boating, playing cards and volunteering with Meals on Wheels. Surviving are two sons Gregory “Gene” (Jamie) Pomponio of Dania, Fla., and Jeffrey (Leanne) Pomponio of Carroll Township; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Dave) Bova, Gina (Jeff) Hafley, Justin and Jason Pomponio; four great-grandchildren; Rose, Gia, Hope and Leah; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are her husband, Eugene F. Pomponio who died December 2010; and a sister Carolyn Raupach. The family would like to thank Dunlevy Manor and ViaQuest Hospice for their excellent care. As per Mrs. Pomponio’s request, there will be no public visitation. Friends may attend a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Friday, July 17, 2020, at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, Charleroi. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION, Charleroi, Joseph A. Lopez, funeral director.
