Fans of the Monongahela Area Revitalization Corporation’s first-ever Movies at the Mounds event held last summer will be glad to know it’s returning.

Scheduled for Friday at Mounds Park and weather permitting, the featured movie is the 1985 blockbuster hit “Back to the Future.”

On Aug. 21, the scheduled film is “Finding Nemo.”

Both movies will begin at dark, and volunteers are asking viewers not to show up before 8 p.m.

The event will feature snacks, hot dogs and soda, and attendees are asked to bring their own chairs or blankets.

“The only thing we provide is a big grassy spot,” said MARC board member Corrina Withrow. “It’s free and it’s just something for the community to come and enjoy. This is our second year; last year was an experiment and it went over really well.”

This month’s movie was originally scheduled to be shown in June, but due to inclement weather it was moved to Friday.
