Mary M. Steefe Pantoni, 96, of Carroll Township, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2020, at the Residence at Hilltop, Monongahela. She was born in Donora on Sept. 18, 1923, a daughter of the late Louis and Philomena Valeri Steefe. A homemaker, Mrs. Pantoni was Catholic by faith and a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish. Mary was a member of the St. Philip Neri Altar Society and the Focolare Movement. She had a great love of classical music, having played the violin for many years. Mary truly enjoyed her family, especially during the holidays. She always delighted to be with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Pantoni; and two sisters, Virginia Ince and Roseann Cochran. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Mary Ann (William) Lloyd of Monongahela and Martina (Michael) Vitalbo of Monongahela; one son, Domenic Pantoni of Richmond, Va.; grandchildren, Martin (Anissa) Lloyd, Meighan (David) Harding, Mary Frances (John) Doherty, Matthew Lloyd, Nicholas Vitalbo and Melanie Westfall, Elizabeth (Kevin) Merkel, Philip Vitalbo and Stephanie Clark and Damien (Meaghan) Pantoni; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements have been entrusted to ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE INC., 40 Second St. Ext., Carroll Township/Donora, PA 15033, 724-379-6900, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 16, 2020. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 17, 2020, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at noon at the Donora campus of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish. Entombment will follow at Mon Valley Memorial Park in Donora. In order to be compliant with the new “norm” of Covid-19 restrictions, attendance will be limited to 50 people at any given time inside the funeral home. Guests are asked to obey social distancing guidelines and personal protection guidelines which include masks within the funeral home. Guests may be asked to limit their visitation times so that all visitors will have the opportunity to pay their respects. Thank you.
