Edward B. Reiger – Rostraver Township

Edward B. Reiger, 73, of Rostraver Township, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2020. A son of the late George and Eleanor Deter Reiger, he was born in North Charleroi on June 17, 1947. A lifelong resident of Rostraver, Ed was a life member of Rostraver Central Volunteer Fire Department. He had been employed as a patient escort at Monongahela Valley Hospital, retiring after 27 years. A U.S. Navy veteran, Ed served during Vietnam aboard the U.S.S. Independence. He is survived by a daughter and son in-law, Betty and Chris Statzula of Rostraver Township; six grandchildren, Christopher, Alicia, Matthew, Hayden, Noah and Steven Statzula; and two great-grandchildren, Brandon and Grayson Statzula. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen Reiger; and a grandson, Brandon Statzula in 2006. Friends will be received from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, July 17, at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-5300, www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com. Face masks are required in the funeral home. A funeral service will begin at noon in the funeral home with Pastor David Saylor officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
