Monongahela officials have issued a warning for landlords behind on 2019 inspections: schedule them now or prepare for litigation.
At a meeting last week, council was told by city solicitor Todd Pappasergi that there are a number of delinquent inspections.
“I would like the public to know that we have several delinquencies on rental inspections,” Pappasergi said. “Please call Charlie (Fritch, rental inspector) to get them set up. Otherwise, I will seek the authorization from council in August to begin litigation and enforcement action against persons who have not complied with the inspection ordinance.”
Pappasergi said he is unable to comment on potential litigation, but did say there are delinquent 2019 inspections citywide. The litigation is the equivalent of a code violation and will be handled by code enforcement.
