Charles W. “Goober” Pavelchak, 79 of Monongahela, Forward Township, died Thursday, July 9, 2020, in Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Born Jan. 27, 1941, in New York City, he was the son of William and Susan Fransko Pavelchak. After his graduation from Elizabeth Forward High School, Goober joined the United States Army, serving from 1958-1964. He worked in the shipping department at the former Combustion Engineering until its closing. He was a past member and former chief of the Gallatin Sunnyside VFD and a former member of Carroll Township American Legion Post No. 949. He enjoyed playing golf and playing euchre every Friday night with friends at the Carroll Township Legion. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Wayne Price of Dravosburg; and a granddaughter, Jordan Price. He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrna Gray Pavelchak who passed away April 8, 2016. At Goober’s request there will be no public services.
