Warriors Fast Pitch coach Harry Rutherford had 15 players listed on his roster for a pair of games in the Mon Valley Independent Senior Swing softball tournament Wednesday.
He used his depth to his advantage and got to see what some of his younger players could do in the team’s second win of the day, an 11-1 triumph over Rams Fast Pitch Jrs. in Perryopolis.
Starting all underclassmen with a sprinkle of varsity players mixed in, Rutherford watched as his team, the No. 1 seed out of the Red Division, finished with 11 hits and scored all of its runs in the first two innings.

Round-robin play
Warriors FP 5,
Rams FP 1
Warriors FP officially clinched the top seed out of the Senior Swing’s Red Division, pulling away late for a 5-1 win over Rams FP.
With the loss, the Rams fell to the No. 3 spot in the division.
Jordan Pinneri, Bri Sersevic and Shelby Telegdy each had a pair of hits for the Warriors.
Warriors FP (3-0) got on the board in the top of the first with back-to-back doubles by Sersevic and Telegdy with two outs in the inning.
Telegdy and Rams FP pitcher were stuck in a pitch-for-pitch battle, answering one quick inning with another until the Warriors finally broke through in the top of the sixth.
Pinneri started things with a one-out bunt single. She came into score on an RBI single by Telegdy. Grace Smith followed with a blast that one-hopped the wall in left-center for a double.
Rams FP didn’t go away and started to get to Telegdy in the bottom of the sixth, pulling to within a r un when Haley Resosky delivered a two-out RBI single to score Nya Adams to make it 3-1.
In the seventh, the Warriors added two more runs with an RBI double to the fence by Resnik and a run-scoring single by Sersevic.
