Maria Alouise “MaryLou” Conti Obitko, 86, of Monongahela, died suddenly Monday, July 6, 2020, in Monongahela Valley Hospital. Born Feb. 28, 1934, in Hazelkirk, she was the daughter of Joseph and Josephine Benedict Conti. MaryLou worked for many years as an accountant and tax specialist, retiring from H&R Block. A 1952 graduate of Monongahela High School, she was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Monongahela and enjoyed cooking, quilting, knitting and gardening in her spare time. She had a sweet tooth and loved ALL kinds of cookies and candy!!! Over the years, she enjoyed many adventures while traveling with her children and always looked forward to Easter time and making pysanky eggs. Surviving are a son, Chris Obitko of Speers; and a daughter, Renee Obitko of Temple, Ga.; a brother, William Conti of Massillon, Ohio; her dog, Bandit; and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, Rudolph R. Obitko, who died June 16, 1999; a brother, Joseph Conti; and two sisters, Elaine Lucent and Irene Bedsworth. Friends will be received at MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767, marshallmarrafuneralhome.com, from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. Prayer services will begin in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at Saint Andrew the Apostle Parish Saturday, July 11, 2020. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Township.
