A confrontation on a Charleroi street early Sunday turned violent and ended with one man suffering from a traumatic brain injury, police said.

An arrest warrant was issued Monday for Brandon Carter, 35, of Prospect Avenue, Charleroi, who is accused of throwing a brick at Timothy Pace.

Eurainia Foster called 911 at 2:33 a.m. Sunday to report Pace had been assaulted and was on the ground in front of a Fallowfield Avenue residence.

Charleroi Regional police Officer Brandon Zuraw and Mon Valley Emergency Medical Services personnel found Pace unresponsive and face down on a sidewalk in a pool of blood, Zuraw wrote in an affidavit of probable cause.

Foster told Zuraw she was sitting outside her Fallowfield Avenue home when Pace showed up covered in blood. Pace said Carter struck him in the head with a brick on Prospect Avenue after a confrontation about an alleged affair with his wife, according to the affidavit.

A witness to the altercation told police Pace appeared intoxicated and upset when he came to the 800 block of Prospect Avenue, where Carter was playing football with Pace’s children. The witness said Pace was asked to leave, which prompted him to pull a knife and cut Carter on the right side of his face, the affidavit states.
