Following an extended closure caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Meadowcroft Rockshelter and Historic Village in Washington County is now open to the public.
Tickets can be purchased at the visitor’s center upon arrival, and throughout July, everyone 17 and under will receive free admission, sponsored by Range Resources.
New policies and procedures are now in place for the health and safety of visitors and staff:
• All visitors should practice social distancing and maintain a distance of at least 6 feet from other guests and groups.
• All visitors and staff are required to wear cloth face coverings while occupying indoor spaces, including restrooms and the Visitor Center.
• The number of visitors permitted in indoor spaces is limited to 50% of capacity so social distancing can be maintained.
• Items used in hands-on activities, such as atlatl and tomahawk throwing, will be disinfected after each use.
• Hand sanitizing stations are available in key locations throughout the site, including near picnic tables and restrooms.
• Enhanced sanitation protocols are in effect, including the regular cleaning of restrooms and high-touch surfaces throughout the day.
