Rose Rohland – formerly of Monessen

Rose Rohland, 99, a former resident of Monessen, died July 1, 2020. She was the wife of the late Edward Rohland. Rose was born on March 10, 1921, daughter of the late Valentine and Helen Jarnecic Kovatich. She was formerly employed as a cook for the executive dining room of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Company in Monessen. After her retirement in 1983, she moved to Connecticut to enjoy spending time with her family, especially her five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is survived by daughter, Jackie Rohland Gates of Enfield, Conn., and her family, Alissa Gates Booth and children, Kyra and Evan Booth of Landisville, Pa., and Jennifer Gates and her wife, Angela Kreisman of Martinez, Ga. She is also survived by her daughter, Colleen Rohland Kerr of Middletown, Conn., and her family, Kelly Kerr Musinski and husband Dan and their children, Lauren, Cailyn and Daniel, all of Middletown; Edward Kerr and wife Tammy Golobish Kerr of Willington, Conn.; and Jill Kerr Langevin and husband Kevin and their children, Haley and Jack of Broad Brook, Conn. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Per Rose’s request, private burial services will be at the convenience of the family. She will be interred at Grandview Cemetery in Monessen next to her husband.
