Carl E. Barker, 80, of Greenock, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2020. He was born Nov. 14, 1939, in McKeesport and was the son of the late John E. “Jack” and Dorothy Jane Guest Barker. He was retired from Standard LaFarge and was a member and past recording secretary of the Elizabeth Township Sportsmen’s Club. He was also a member of Studebaker Drivers Club, Buena Vista Fire Company Social Club, WMBU, and the Elizabeth Township Ex-serviceman’s Association. He loved hunting, fishing, and playing cards, especially Euchre and Pinochle. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dora Mae Gilbert Barker; son and best buddy, C. Wayne Barker of Greenock; sister, Phyllis (Van) Smith of Murrysville; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Raczkowski and Bonnie Gilbert; brothers-in-law, Vaughn Gilbert and Jack Greenawald of Elizabeth Township; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grand-dogs, Taffy, Thunder, Fritz and Gracie. Visitation and services are private. The Rev. Lori Walters will officiate. Interment will be at Mount Vernon Cemetery in Elizabeth Township. A celebration service of the life of Carl Barker will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by GILBERT FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 6028 Smithfield St., Boston, Elizabeth Township, 412-751-5000, Drew J. Gilbert, director.
