By obits

Patricia K. “Patty” Madison-Crosby, 64, entered Heaven as a singing angel on Tuesday, June 24, 2020, at Jefferson Hospital. She was affectionately called “MeMe” or “Patty Cake” by her family. Born March 8, 1956, in Pittsburgh, Patty was the daughter of the late Katherine and Napoleon Madison Sr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lorraine “Dolly” Madison; granddaughter, Monet’ Crosby; and grandmother whom she dearly loved, Nellie Davis. Patty was a life-long resident of Monessen. She attended the Monessen Public School system and graduated with the Class of 1974. She was currently employed as a nutrition cook by SPHS in the Meals on Wheels Program, and had worked there for the past 25 years. She previously worked at Monessen School District for 15 years. She was proud to be the first Black PTA president and the first Black band parent president in the school district. She was a faithful member of Christian Center Church in Rostraver Township under the leadership of Pastor Tim Burgan. Patty was an amazing woman of God who loved unconditionally! She had a smile for everyone. Patty truly loved her family. Patty leaves to mourn, her loving husband of 44 years, Howard “Otis” Crosby of Monessen; three daughters, Yolanda Madison-Dixon (Alonzo) of Ellenwood, Ga., Kim Crosby (Damon Richie) of Pittsburgh and Kelly Crosby of Coraopolis; one son, Andre Crosby of Monessen; two brothers, Napoleon “Pole” (Robin) Madison and Greg (Carla) Davis, both of Monessen; a very special daughter/granddaughter, Monique Madison; a very special brother and sister from another mother, Pastor Tim and Paige Burgan; a special friend, Lisa Lyons; six grandchildren, Stefon, Monique, Justice, Sania, Anastasia and Marcus; two great-grandchildren, Zane and Ziya; and a host of other relatives and friends. Patty will be truly missed by all. Friends will be received from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 27, in Christian Center Church, 130 Charity Lane, Rostraver Township, followed by funeral services at 4 p.m. with Pastor Tim Burgan officiating. Patty will be laid to rest with her parents in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Those attending the visitation and funeral service are requested to please wear a mask and practice safe social distancing.
