William J. ‘Banker Bill’ Namie – Monongahela

William J. “Banker Bill” Namie, 78, of Monongahela, died Friday, June 19, 2020, in Southwestern Nursing Center, Pleasant Hills. Born Dec. 7, 1941, in Monongahela, he was the son of the late William and Marthe Berthon Namie. Bill was a 1959 graduate of Monessen High School and retired from the City of Monongahela’s Street Department. An avid Steelers fan, he loved shooting pool and belonged to several pool leagues and enjoyed going to karaoke with his brother Carmen. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Tracie and James Truxal of Dravosburg; two brothers, Richard Namie of Pleasant Hills and Carmen Namie Sr. of Monongahela; three grandchildren, Roxie, Noah and Eric; a great-granddaughter, Gianna; three nephews and a niece, Carmen Jr. and fianceé Heidi Mathews and Justin Namie, Leann Loder and Brent Hammerling; a great-niece, Brooklyn Namie; and his former wife, Roxie Biddle of Glassport. Preceding him in death was a brother, Randal L. Namie. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 26, at the MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767.
