Leah P. Terensky – Charleroi

Leah P. Terensky, born June 22, 1921, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, June 20, 2020, two days before her 99th birthday. Leah was born in Fall River, Mass., to Alex and Alma Fontaine Mavrakis and lived most of her life in Monessen and Charleroi. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry Mucy; second husband, John Terensky; a son, Michael D. Mucy and his wife Marie; granddaughter, Lisa Corleone; and a niece, Lori Quinn. Leah is survived by her daughter, Darla Madison and husband Norman of Monessen; two beloved sisters, Evangeline Niehaus of Belle Vernon and Mary Jane Quinn of Monessen; five grandchildren, Michael S. Mucy of Republic, Frank Campus and wife Marcy of Newell, Joey Balluch of Belle Vernon, Lora Sadler and husband Keith of Perryopolis, and David Balluch and Paula of West Newton; and a host of nieces and nephews. Leah also had what she called her second family, Doreen and Gary Smith of Monessen and their daughter Abigail, whom Leah “Shucka” loved dearly. Leah lived in Char House Apartments in Charleroi for more than 33 years and wanted to thank the maintenance staff, Larry Cowell and other friends for making those years pleasant. Also, Leah wanted to thank the staff from Diversified Human Services and her caregivers, Annette Fedor and June Molek, for more than 10 years of heartfelt service. There will be a private graveside service. Memorial contributions can be made to Vision Services of Washington-Greene, 566 E. Maiden St., Washington, PA 15301.
