Louise Sweda, 88, of Charleroi, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2020. Born on June 29, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Nunzio and Julia Ceci Santa Colombo. She was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church and enjoyed going to the casino and traveling, especially to Niagara Falls, Hawaii and Florida. Her greatest joy was her family and they regard her as the world’s best mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Louise is survived by her children, Michael (Shelley) Sweda of Donora, Paul Sweda of Charleroi, Diane Sweda of Charleroi and Nadine Sweda of Washington; grandchildren, Chad (Janette) Sweda, Steven (Jen) Ivil and Deena Moats; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Nunzio Santa Colombo; sister-in-law, Tootsie Santa Colombo; and close friends, Eric Murphy and Sandy Krills. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Michael Sweda; grandson, Jason Sweda; brother, Mario Santa Colombo; sister, Evelyn Santa Colombo; and sister-in-law, Wanda Santa Colombo. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION, 819 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, Joseph A. Lopez, funeral director. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Sebastian R.C. Church, Belle Vernon, with interment following in Mon Valley Memorial Park. The family requests that all visitors wear a mask in the funeral home and church. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in memory of Mrs. Sweda to the Dementia Society of America, P.O.
