Local woman critical after shooting

Allegheny County homicide detectives are investigating after a woman who was sitting on her porch in McKeesport was shot several times late Sunday.
The 41-year-old victim, who has not been identified, suffered gunshot wounds to the back, arm and leg. She was in critical condition in an area hospital Monday, according to ACPD Lt. Venerando Costa.
The shooting happened just before 10:40 p.m. on the 700 block of Evans Avenue.
Costa said an unidentified male with a face mask walked toward the victim’s residence and fired toward the porch, striking the victim.
That prompted a male at the residence, who has not been identified, to return fire at the shooter, who fled on foot on Evans Avenue toward Beacon Street.
No charges had been filed Monday night.
